Mommy fun
You know we got snow over the weekend right? And that it's stayed for a few days, right? Monday's are mommy's Winthrop Ensemble practices where I hang out with the Schillaci's while she toots her French horn for a few hours.
Mommy's horn case is one of those backpack style cases that she slings on her shoulders when walking around...remember that.
Apparently after practice while heading to mommy's car, mommy slipped on some ice. And as she tried getting back up she slipped again. On her back both times. She scraped her elbow and tore a hole in one of her socks (we're not sure how), but was able to get up and finally get situated.
She called daddy on her way to the gas station and to pick me up and when he answered the phone daddy said he could tell something wasn't quite right. Mommy got real emotional and scared daddy. She told him how she fell....twice and he said he figured she broke something, an arm or hand but was missing it because of an adrenaline rush or something.
Daddy said he was trying to calm her down and figure out what the next steps were when mommy told him she was fine, but it was her horn she was worried about. Daddy said it was all he could do to not drop the phone from guffawing so loud!
Very relieved at the whole thing, daddy talked mommy down and got her feeling a little bit better. Now he was just worried about how much it'd cost to fix her horn up, which could be expensive but much better than dealing with broken bones.
After we got home and they put me to bed, daddy said mommy opened up the horn case and looked at the damage and......
All was well! Not a single scratch or dent in the horn - can you believe that!
Wow.
And so because the end result was so good, daddy and I were able to write this post out and have a wee bit of fun at mommy's expense - we love you mommy!
