July 4th

We had a fun weekend for the 4th. The weather was great and we picked up Grandma and drove up to Tom & Mary Lou Connelly's to celebrate. The Knight family drove down from Virginia so I got to see my cousins Miles, Maisy and Olivia too.

Grandma said Grandpa (I call him Papa now) drove up earlier to start prepping the fireworks display, it's become a specialty of his.

Click the link below (or just go to my Pictures link on the right) for some photos from the afternoon. Including fireworks! I wasn't real sure what to think at first, but Papa did a great job with them, so I kept saying "Yay, Papa!"

It was real late after the fireworks, so we drove home and I was sacked out and slept in real late Sunday.

Even then I was still a little groggy this morning and I accidentally gashed Daddy's head with my teeth while playing around - sorry Daddy!

Sunday evening, Mommy left us to go to a 2-day conference in Durham...bye bye Mommy, we'll see you Tuesday!

This past week

Happy day-after Birthday to my cousin Luke, he turned 3 yesterday! Yay Luke!

Last weekend, Mommy and Daddy took a mini-vacation and I got to stay with the Connelly's. They put up this really neat pool but I wasn't so keen to play in it. Pools in general....just not my thing right now.

I'm good with the bath in our house, but not really anywhere else.

Bubbles though are a different story. Give me bubbles and I'm a giggly little dude for hours.

Just remember: what happens at Grandma and Grandpa's, stays at Grandma and Grandpa's.

Oh hey, just before last weekend, Mommy gave me one of her French horn mouthpieces and I was able to buzz through it - that made her day.

We tried a baritone mouthpiece too, but that's a little difficult, though I did conk myself in the head with it. Who knew it'd be so painful? Ouch!

She got a video of it I think, so we'll try to get that posted soon.

But um, I may have broken their camera, but it's their fault for letting me play with it, right? Am I right???

Anyhoo.

I'll close tonight with some exciting news - the photos from our Mother's Day session at the Light Factory's 2009 Shoot Out fundraiser are ready for you all.

Just click on the Pictures link on the right side here and then click on the "2009 Pictures" button on the page that pops up. There's 2 albums of good stuff. The first was by this great photographer who was approximating a photo booth. The second set is from a different photographer (his name was Jeff, how cool is that?!?!).

Enjoy!

Early Christmas Part 1

So Saturday afternoon Grandma Connelly picked me up and took me to the Lazy 5 Ranch to see a bunch of animals. I was a little unsure about the whole thing, but it was a good time.

Afterwards we went over to Tom and Mary Lou's house for dinner and mommy and daddy came by too. I got to see my cousins from the Knight family who were mostly a blur to me, but they were fun too!

We ate some Brunswick Stew and hushpuppies, but I mostly had fun exploring the house and playing with a VW Bug model car. Then Mary Lou gave me a really big wooden spoon and let me bang on one of her pots, I couldn't believe it at first that she was letting me do this, but wow it was cool!

They gave me an early Christmas gift too, a really neat storybook that both mommy and daddy read when they were kids - Richard Scary's Best Book Ever. Thanks!

Marlette Construction Boat Races

Saturday was the annual Boat Races at the Connellys (Grandpa Kinton's mom and dad's house). It rained for a little bit, but after that passed by there was a lot of fun to be had.

The cardboard boat races were neat to watch, but Grandpa Kinton and Uncle Todd's boat sank before the race started....poor guys.

Still it was a lot of fun, so much fun that I didn't want to take any naps and possibly miss out on anything.....like the 2 video clips below, check out the lead singer in the 2nd one!

My First Band Competition (Part 2)

The thing is, now that I think about it, I never got to the competition! We left home to go out there, but somehow I ended up with Grandma and Grandpa Connelly.

Oh wait, that's right, they have a cabin on the lake out that way, so after all that driving which was great because it gave me some really neat dreams, I stayed there instead of seeing the bands compete.

Probably just as well as it got a little chilly this evening and I'm not sure if I'm fond of cold weather just yet.....give me a few years on that.

Grandma Connelly is fun to be around, she lets me do stuff that mom and dad don't.....well maybe. Okay, I'll retract that statement for now or at least plead the 5th Amendment for the time being, I don't want to give anyone the wrong idea or anything.

I watched a little television and thought that doctor guy on House was pretty cool, but that other show called K'ville wasn't very good at all, so I decided to go to sleep.

Sometime around 11 mom and dad showed back up. They looked happy to see me which was great because I'm always happy to see them! But then they packed me back up in my car seat which I don't always like, but I suppose it's necessary.

We got back in the car and sometime later were back home. I slept the entire trip so I missed all the sights and now since it's even later, I think I'll head back to Dreamland to chase some more rabbits!
