Day 4

My first clue should've been when Mommy and Daddy dressed me in my Superman jammies the night before...

Last Friday, Mommy and Daddy woke me up a little earlier than normal, packed me into the car and drove me to some strange place. Since this was kind of interesting I forgot all about being hungry or thirsty.

We rode down an elevator, went over to another one and up to the 7th floor of some place called Presbyterian Surgery Center, or something. This tall man named Ron Lincoln greeted us and seemed a little too chipper for 7 in the morning. But what a fun guy he was showing us around this place.

Pretty soon a nurse came to get me and put a tag on my ankle, and some bands on Mommy and Daddy's wrists. They made me change into some flimsy gown-like thing (see my picture pages for what it looked like), weighed me and measured me - 22 pounds 4 ounces and 30 inches long.

Pretty soon they gave me some liquid stuff that made me feel really, really good! Then things got fuzzy.

Editor's note: At this point Elliott was visited by the anesthesiologist and Dr. Gazak to talk to us about his procedure. A few minutes later the nurse picked Elliott up and took him back to their OR. About 50 minutes later the procedure complete, Elliott was moved to a recovery area. We got to see him about 10 minutes after that.

The next thing I know I'm sitting in Mommy's arms in some strange, cold room with a curtain. A little while later, they dressed me back in the Superman PJ's and we were headed back home. The rest of the day was pretty much a blur of grogginess, lying on alternately on Mommy's lap and then Daddy's and then just sleep, sleep and more sleep.

Today it's Day 4 after the procedure and my bandage came off today. It's still really, really sore, so I'm hoping it gets better soon!
