This past week

Happy day-after Birthday to my cousin Luke, he turned 3 yesterday! Yay Luke!

Last weekend, Mommy and Daddy took a mini-vacation and I got to stay with the Connelly's. They put up this really neat pool but I wasn't so keen to play in it. Pools in general....just not my thing right now.

I'm good with the bath in our house, but not really anywhere else.

Bubbles though are a different story. Give me bubbles and I'm a giggly little dude for hours.

Just remember: what happens at Grandma and Grandpa's, stays at Grandma and Grandpa's.

Oh hey, just before last weekend, Mommy gave me one of her French horn mouthpieces and I was able to buzz through it - that made her day.

We tried a baritone mouthpiece too, but that's a little difficult, though I did conk myself in the head with it. Who knew it'd be so painful? Ouch!

She got a video of it I think, so we'll try to get that posted soon.

But um, I may have broken their camera, but it's their fault for letting me play with it, right? Am I right???

Anyhoo.

I'll close tonight with some exciting news - the photos from our Mother's Day session at the Light Factory's 2009 Shoot Out fundraiser are ready for you all.

Just click on the Pictures link on the right side here and then click on the "2009 Pictures" button on the page that pops up. There's 2 albums of good stuff. The first was by this great photographer who was approximating a photo booth. The second set is from a different photographer (his name was Jeff, how cool is that?!?!).

Enjoy!

What's new?

Guess what? I had a doctor's appointment last week and here's my latest measurements...21 pounds 3 ounces, 30 inches tall and a head span of 19.25 inches. What that means apparently is my head is huge compared to the rest of me!

I wonder if that's why I seem to tall on my face a lot lately?

Daddy says I need to learn how to put my hands out in front of me, he's says there's family history there, but I didn't quite follow.

Hey, last Friday was my Grammer's birthday....Happy Birthday Grammer!!! I'll get to see her and the rest of the Ohio Wise's in a few weeks for Christmas....oh boy!

This past weekend was the Lincoln County Christmas Parade. Daddy and I hung out for a while (ask him about the bananas) before it started, check out the pictures below. Then we watched all the fire trucks in Lincoln County go by with their sirens screaming.

Good thing I had a toboggan on my noggin, otherwise I'd be all like, "what?", "WHAT?!?" but I'm all good still.

Oh and lastly, today was the 1-year birthday for Gabe and Mitch Martin - happy birthday to both of them too!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Thanks to mommy and daddy for waking me up this evening so I could see daddy tonight for his birthday. All day long, all I said was daddy, daddy, daddy (don't tell mommy)!

But I'm not feeling so great right now, stuffy nose and all, so back to bed I go...

Birthday dinner

Back in July when we were visiting my cousin Tate and Grandpa Wise for their birthdays, Uncle Jay and Aunt (Sm)Ellen got me an early birthday present that makes all sorts of great and loud car noises.

For some reason, that toy's been making noises all on its own most of the day today....weird.

Anyhoo.

Mommy and daddy took me out for a birthday dinner at a place called Friendly's. It's right across the street from where I was born and they said they ate there after the doctor's visit that showed I was going to be a dude.

I sat in a high-chair for the first time and mommy ordered me a kid's meal for the first time. All you groupies out there mark it down: Elliott's first meal ordered off a menu was Grilled Cheese and Applesauce.

Before the grub arrived though, daddy and mommy were reflecting on the day of my birth....been there, done that, snooze.....so I started looking around the joint and just down the way was this cute little 8-month old girl.

I caught her eye and flashed my semi-toothy grin and she was captivated, if I may say so myself. Actually, I did just say so myself, so there you have it.

Check it out: her mommy brought her over to meet me, but I played it cool and sat back in my high chair with my foot up.....you can't let 'em know you're interested too quickly, takes all the mystique away.

But then she left and I didn't see her again. Wonder why?

Dinner was good, eating real people food is kinda interesting but what's with all this chewing? It's so tiring opposed to slurping down pureed chicken and vegetables, I don't get it, why do you all work so hard for food???

Whatever. Being a little guy has its advantages, I might hang with that for a while still.

The best part of dinner though was at the end, the friendly folks at Friendly's brought me out 3 balloons and sang me a birthday song! How cool is that?!?!

I hope I have another birthday next week!!!!

Until then, I'm tired, good night!

Here a tooth, there a tooth....

Not one, not 2, but tres tooths coming in today! Mommy says no wonder I've been out of sorts the last few days, all those tooths popping in would make anyone crazy.

My left top front tooth is taking its time though and for whatever reason daddy and mommy have been calling me Cletus - can someone explain that for me???

Oh boy, it's almost August 5th - you know what that means.....about 18 days until my birthday! Best day of the year!!!!

Did you know that on August 23rd, 1982 some guy named Gaylord Perry was kicked out of a ball game for throwing a spitball?

Wow, with the amount of spit I produce daily, I'll never get to play baseball!

Grandpa the Great is 80!

Almost. His birthday isn't until the 18th and we decided to call him Grandpa the Great over Great Grandpa. We finally got to meet each other this weekend down in Tybee Island!

Most of mommy's side of the family were there, so I got to see my Great Uncle Todd, Great Aunt Kathy and Camille along with Aunt Jessie, Uncle Todd and Lucas. Of course Grandma and Grandpa Connelly were there too. We had a fun weekend hanging out in Georgia.

Saturday we rode into Savannah for a special birthday lunch for Grandpa the Great (oh and mommy's birthday is coming up this Tuesday too!!). We ate at some woman's restaurant that's all famous for its Southern fried food and all that stuff. I guess it was good, but I didn't get to eat any of the food, I just sat by the window and took in the view.

It was so nice to see my relatives, Camille and Lucas are a lot of fun. They kicked a ball around most of the weekend and taught me all sorts of giggles, laughs, hoots and hollers - I can't wait to try them out back home!

Later this week, we'll get more pictures posted too...

The week that was

Last week was fun and interesting. My new bestest buddy Bridget watched me all week. Some of you may recall me mentioning Bridget's name earlier, she was the wonderful person who subbed for mommy while she stayed home with me for a while.

Well, of course mommy went back to work and Bridget was available to watch me for the week. We went for some walks and played a lot....okay yeah, a lot of sleep in there too, but you know what I'm getting at.

See, the day care mommy and daddy were planning to use fell through, but so far no big deal. I get to stay home and between Bridget and Grandma Connelly (psst...she just had a birthday - HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDMA!!!) they've been watching me.

But here's the other thing, last week was my buddy Ryan's last week helping mommy teach her bands. Some of you know Ryan and some don't - Ryan is heading off to the Air Force, but before he flew off, he took time to help help teach the bands.

He's a fun guy....makes me laugh. Well last Friday, we went to his other job at Longhorn Steakhouse to help celebrate his last night there. We had a good time, you should've seen daddy trying to eat his dinner and feed me my bottle at the same time - funny sight!

So to close - thank you Bridget and Ryan!
