Western Carolina competition
This past weekend the band traveled out to Western Carolina University for big time competition. Daddy and I drove up separately from the band Friday night and we stayed at hotel by the university.
The room was pretty long and I got to crawl around back and forth until I fell asleep.
Saturday was an early day, the band's prelims performance was before 10a! I thought they did pretty well, they're really starting to play their show with a lot of excitement.
The rest of the day was a bit of blur with naps and crawling around the area behind the stands and trying to stay out of the sun. I did a pretty good job getting my clothes dirty!
The band ended up not making finals, which was too bad, maybe next time!
My own excitement came as Daddy and I were getting ready to leave to come back home. I was playing in the grass by the car when I fell into Daddy's legs. He thought I hit my forehead on his leg and picked me up to ease my pain.
But really, I hit my mouth and was bleeding. Mommy saw the blood and got worried that I busted a tooth. But I had all my teeth, so that wasn't it. Daddy got one of the band moms (thank you Ms. Roberts!) who's a pediatric nurse to take a look and it turns out that little thing that connects my upper lip to my gum got ripped a bit.
She told Mommy and Daddy that this is somewhat common and that I'll be okay in a few days - boy was that a relief!
Maybe a little too much excitement to end the day.
