Snow and ice

Wow, so we got snow Friday night and some ice on Saturday. A few inches of snow topped with ice so I couldn't grab any to throw at daddy. We tromped around a bit though and that was sort of fun.

Daddy's good friend from work is moving to Pennsylvania this coming week, so we tried to trek out Saturday evening to wish him bon voy-ag-gee and it was a trip.

Our neighbors up the street were sledding down the sheet of ice that is our street before we left and they took me for a quick ride on their sled - that was fun!

We made it up the hill and out of the Riverbend...slowly, but daddy got us out. The highway was a little better, but it was slow going.

I got to play with Mitch and Gabe again once we finally got to where we were going. I hadn't seen them in maybe a year and a half. They're a few months younger than me, but were taller than me, but that's okay because mommy brought trains for me to play with and I shared with them!

Later in the evening, mommy was looking at a tenor sax for Neal trying to fix it and she let me play it. That was fun, but I like playing brass better!

We made it home okay and Sunday the sun came out and melted the ice off the streets, so we got out to the grocery store and I got to sit in the driver's seat of the cart again - that's a lot of fun.

The week that was

Boy, what a week. On Monday Mommy finally went back to rehearsal with her Winthrop ensemble, so I got to see the Schillaci's again.

Then Tuesday, I hung out with the Connelly's and we tried to go see the circus animals parade through the town. It was chilly. And windy too. So we popped into a big building to wait, but the animals never came by. So we went home.

Wednesday, we went to go see the circus. That was fun. I really don't remember it from last year much, so it was neat to see all the animals again - the elephants, the tigers and even some doggies. The clowns were funny too. The double-barrel cannon was a little too loud though.

Speaking of loud, we stopped at Mert's Heart and Soul for dinner beforehand and while we were there the fire alarms went off. They were loud and we had to leave the building. But then they let us back in, but then the alarms went off again. But this time they let us stay in our seats.

But those alarms were loud, I didn't like it at all. I laid my head on daddy's arm and he covered my ears. I just didn't like all that noise, but finally they stopped.

Then today, Friday, it snowed again. I'm still not real sure what I think about it, other than it's cold, but everything's all covered in white outside.

Okay

Wow, January's almost over already and where has the time gone?

Well the big news first, my Great Aunt Allison gave birth today to a girl! Welcome Paisley Morning Hart, I look forward to meeting you soon!!

It's been a fun couple of weeks, Mommy and Daddy said something about this snow stuff again earlier this week but they never followed up, so who knows.

We went outside Saturday for a very, very brief walk. Mommy got this monkey thing that sits on my back with a long tail. They hold on to the tail to keep me from getting away when I go walking off on my own.

And let me say, walking off by myself is a whole lot of fun! It's a like a whole new world to explore and make trouble with.

Milestones: Snow and Rolling Over

Six days shy of my 5-month birthday I got to see my first snow! And boy was it cold too. Mommy said no 2 snowflakes are alike, but all I saw was white on everything, then mushy stuff on everything and then just plain chilly rain.

So that's snow, eh? I could do without, but it was something new so a big "yay!" for me I guess.

Mommy was more excited yesterday because of the thing I started doing with Grandma Connelly at Gymboree. I flipped over from my front to back.

After I did that at Gymboree people started clapping and that felt pretty good inside, so I figure I'll have to do it again. When mommy got home Grandma put me on my tummy and asked me to do it again.

But first I impressed mommy by holding my head up high and strong, how 'bout that, eh?

Then I remembered the clapping thing so I rolled over and mommy got all kinds of excited, so we did it again and then once more just to show it wasn't a trick or anything.

Mommy says it won't be long now before I start crawling.....whatever that is I hope it doesn't involve any of that snow stuff.
