Late January

This past weekend was a fun one in all sorts of ways. We went out again to 5 Guys for dinner on Saturday and we brought some of my trains with us too. After I connected them in a circle and played a while, I ended up eating all of my grilled cheese - a first!

Mommy and daddy didn't have anything to bring home for me - yay! Oh but let me tell you how we got to 5 Guys...

See, it's in the same place as Target and we went there first because mommy needed some prescriptions. After we checked out, instead of going back to daddy's car, he started walking with me to 5 Guys.

About halfway there, he let me walk all on my own. Of course, I held his hand the entire way and when we saw mommy drive by (in daddy's car no less...how goofy!) I started walking faster to go find her...still holding daddy's hand.

That was a bit of a workout, but we had fun.

On Sunday, daddy made a bunch of cookies and after he let me eat a couple, I got mommy to give me some more without daddy knowing...ain't it great to be a cutey-pie!

Check back later this week, I heard something about going to the circus.

Upchuck

I suppose it's that time of year with sickness going around. Some of my friends at Chesterbrook were sick last week and I think I got part of it, or something.

Last Monday Daddy stayed home with me because Chesterbrook was closed for President's Day, but Mommy still had school. Then overnight Thursday into Friday I didn't feel so good and tossed my cookies. So Daddy kept me home again to keep an eye on me.

I slept a lot Friday, but in the afternoon I felt much better! Still though I had some issues overnight, but the rest of Saturday and most of Sunday, I was close to my old self.

Which let me tell is a whole lot of fun if I may say so myself. I really like exploring the house and seeing all the stuff I can get into. I like hugging the kitties....when they let me!

A couple of times, Mommy sat me on her lap and called Grandma on her laptop. Grandma's in Florida with Luke and Alex and I got to see them too, that was pretty neat.

I did okay today with feeling better and keeping my food down, so maybe I'm getting past whatever sickness was going around. We'll see...

Okay

Wow, January's almost over already and where has the time gone?

Well the big news first, my Great Aunt Allison gave birth today to a girl! Welcome Paisley Morning Hart, I look forward to meeting you soon!!

It's been a fun couple of weeks, Mommy and Daddy said something about this snow stuff again earlier this week but they never followed up, so who knows.

We went outside Saturday for a very, very brief walk. Mommy got this monkey thing that sits on my back with a long tail. They hold on to the tail to keep me from getting away when I go walking off on my own.

And let me say, walking off by myself is a whole lot of fun! It's a like a whole new world to explore and make trouble with.

Have you seen my Mommy?

Last weekend, Mommy went to her music convention and left me all alone with just Daddy until Tuesday afternoon. But it was okay because Daddy and I had lots of fun, well at least when I was awake we had fun.

Okay, I'll fess up, he put up some more gates in the house and that I didn't enjoy so much. I need, no...I want to get into everything, so he needs to understand that unfettered access is necessary for me to be truly happy.

So if you don't mind letting him know that I'd be quite appreciative! Thanks.

Now for some fun facts: I've got my 4th lower tooth coming in; I ate brussel sprouts (sorry Mommy and Grandma, but they tasted pretty good); I can point my index finger to things that interest me and I call everything I point to "daddy" (how cool is that???). Oh and I'm a pusher these days, pushing anything I can around the room while I'm walking.

Oh and hey, since it's been a while since I've posted, I need to send a HUGE shout out to my newest peep: my new cousin Alex!!!!

I'm a walker

After about a week of teasing mommy and daddy, I decided tonight to finally take those first steps on my own (cue music: I'm a big boy now!).

Yessiree, I can now walk on my own 2 feet under my own power - how 'bout them apples?!?! (what does that mean? Is there something about apples I need to know about?).

Believe it or not, my first official steps were at.......the high school band room. Yup, mommy had me in there at the start of rehearsal tonight (thanks for watching me Tessa!) and it was just the right time.

Mommy has a video of it, so hopefully we'll get it posted here right soon.

UPDATE: Here's the video...

North Lincoln Band Competition

Mommy and Daddy took me to Saturday's band competition at North Lincoln and it was a whole lot of fun....when I was awake.

The band did okay in their prelims performance, but it was really sunny and warm, so I didn't see much of it. Many thanks to the Williamson's for keeping an eye on me while Mommy and Daddy helped out the band.

Before Finals, I got dinner and was able to crawl around on the football field for a little bit. I'm soooo close to walking on my own, but I'm just not ready for it just yet. I need for Mommy and Daddy to think I'm still attached to them because once I start walking, I'm all over the place!

For Finals, I got to hang out with the Wright's and after the sun went down and things cooled down, I slept most of the evening. But wow, did the East Lincoln band pull out a show for Finals!

They were electric and practically swept all the awards - they got the biggest trophy of the night, it was waaaayyyy taller than me!

Back in the afternoon, Mommy had me over by the equipment truck and the pictures below show you what I was able to get into!
